Hey folks. Sesame is a substantial crop for our area,
but it is increasing drastically in the Texas Rio Grande Valley. Once
thought of as a crop with few or no pests, we are seeing that change for sesame
first in the warmer, longer seasoned climates down south. I do not know
if the sesame leafroller is a consistent pest for the High Plains, we should be
aware that it is out there. The IPM Team of Dr. Holly Davis and Danielle
Sekula down in the Valley has just produced this helpful educational video.
Hopefully, we can keep sesame producers aware of the potential and out of
trouble and offer some research based solutions.
Thanks,
