Bollworms and Fleahopers in Cotton fields

Found this bollworm on September 2 in some lush, drip irrigated cotton.  While late, and this pest has been light all season, they can and sometimes do focus on select fields causing heavy economic damage if we are not vigilant.

Also in this photo is a fleahopper adult, who is not a pest at this stage of cotton’s development.  In fact, they feed on bollworm eggs and early larval instars.  They, and the other predators, seem to have missed this medium sized bollworm though.
