Texas Corn Producers Tracking Corn Moths on the High Plains

 

We at Hale & Swisher Counties IPM Unit and Plains Pest Management are honored to contribute to this program this year. The Texas Corn Producers, with help from Texas A&M AgriLife Extension agents in the High Plains, are tracking corn pest moth activity during the growing season to help gauge pressure over the entire region and over time.  Participating agents have continued their moth trapping efforts over the last two months already.

This information about moth activity can aid Texas producer and entomologists in the decision-making process for pest management practices. Agents began trapping moths in June. The following charts show moth counts as of the week of July11.
