Screwworm Field Guide Release

We wanted to let you know that the accessible PDF version of the New World Screwworm Field Guide for Beef Cattle Producers is now available at this link https://agrilifeextension.tamu.edu/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/NWS-Beef-Cattle-Field-Guide-eqd.pdf.

 

This is intended to be a very comprehensive and easy to read documents for our ranchers, with all the important information regarding NWS in one place.

 

This Guide and our other factsheets are available on the AgriLife Extension webiste at https://tx.ag/screwworm  under “Print Resources for Distribution.” The recently released pocket guide is also available at that location.

 

The guide was developed as a practical reference for identifying, responding to, and communicating about screwworm-related issues with clientele and stakeholders.  Thank you to Jason Smith and Jason Banta for writing the Guide and MarComm for formatting it.  It was reviewed by several other Extension Specialists, Extension Veterinarians and personnel at Texas Animal Health Commission. 

 

In addition, we are currently working on a physical printed copies of the Guide  that will  be professionally printed and provided to you for distribution upon request. More information on quantities and distribution plans will be shared as soon as they are available.  We hope to have them available at TCAAA.
